Layne Hedrick is again teaching this popular course.  Layne's focus is the archaeology as it relates to Aquarena.  In this course, you will learn about the history of the San Marcos Springs and gain hands on experience in archaeological research design, mapping and excavation.

Underwater Naturalist

Aquarena Center formally known as Aquarena Springs is an educational park and preservation center that is home to 5 endangered species.  More than 200 springs bubble up from the Edwards Aquifer and discharge an average of 225 million gallons of water daily, it is one of the oldest continuously habitated places in North America.  Aquarena’s Spring Lake is one of the state's best diving lakes with visibility comparable to that of the Caribbean.
