DiveCon (Dive Control Specialist)

Become a leader in diving today. Begun in 1978, this leadership certification combines the skills of assistant instructor and divemaster into a comprehensive certification. SSI combines these courses because we feel these skills are important to the development of a good dive leader and instructor candidate. If you are motivated to share your dive knowledge with beginning divers, this course will satisfy you. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Work on dive boats for resorts and local dive shops
• Lead trips and tours
• Assist SSI instructors in the pool and in open water
• Demonstrate pool skills under the direct supervision of an instructor
• Teach scuba skills update, snorkeling, try scuba, and select specialty courses (equipment techniques, boat diving, photography, digital underwater photography, and shark diver)
• Additiona training qualifies you to become a scuba rangers instructor

The DiveCon manual provides detailed physics, physiology, decompression theory, leader stress, and rescue knowledge.
